Logging into OfficeHaven

  • Launch OfficeHaven.
  • Type the first few letters of your login name into ‘Username’. As you type, the login name should auto-fill the rest. Alternatively, click the triangle at the end of the field (or press the down arrow) to get a full list of the valid login names (Windows users will need to down arrow to the correct username then press Return or Tab to accept). Note: the Username is not case-sensitive and some usernames will not appear on the list so have to be entered in full.
  • Tab to move to ‘Password’ field. Type your full password into ‘Password’ — sorry, it does not auto-fill! When you have typed at least one character of the password the OK button becomes available. Note that the Password is case-sensitive.
  • Click OK to begin logging in. If your username or password is not correct DocHaven will beep and you will need to correct them.

Options
Click Quit to exit OfficeHaven.
Click Help to get this web-based assistance on logging in.
Click Offline to access Projects when away from the network (see below).

Running Offline

DocHaven Offline

  • Click ‘Offline’ to be able to edit the existing projects on your computer, but note that you will not be able to do any server tasks such as create any new projects or put projects away. This feature is useful for laptop users who want to edit projects away from the network or if the network is down.
  • Even if the network and server is available you can still log in Offline.

Problems Connecting?

  • If you are not connected to the network or your computer cannot find the server there is a delay of about 20 seconds after which an error message appears. Click OK to dismiss the error message.
  • You can either run offline or try to connect again. Click the red ‘SQL Server Unavailable’ text for DocHaven to try to connect again.

Logging Out of OfficeHaven

  • Once you have finished using OfficeHaven you can exit multiple ways.
  • Choose ‘Quit OfficeHaven’ from the Application menu (or type Command-Q).
  • Choose ‘Logout…’ from the File menu. If you choose the Logout option, you can log into OfficeHaven as another user. Note that all the previous user’s ‘out’ projects are available for launching and editing, but you might not have the privilege necessary to put these projects away.
