Previous Version

Previous Version

The ‘Previous Version’ command allows users to take out a version of a project other than the latest version on the server. Only project that are currently 'In' can use this feature. This feature is useful where someone has made undesirable changes to a Project and put it away. These changes can be reversed by taking out a version older (smaller in number) than the latest.
  • Choose ‘Previous Version’ from the Manage menu (command-shift-V on Macintosh or control-shift-V on Windows or Linux).
  • Choose the Project from the pop-up list. The ‘Version to Take Out’ pop-up should adjust to show the available versions for that Project, so highlight the version you want.
  • Click OK to take out the chosen version. This version will become the latest version of that project when it is next put away.
Options
If you want to search all the Project versions for a particular missing file or unchanged data it may be preferable to use the Export option to export all versions of a Project without uncompressing, open them up individually to find the desired version then come back here and take out correct previous version.
If you want to regularly keep track of and go back to previous versions then it may be preferable to use the ‘Duplicate in Sequence’ option within DocHaven (command-click on a file or folder in the DocHaven window and choose ‘Duplicate in Sequence’ to create incremental versions within a Project).
